Description

The Selmun salt pans are visible to hikers and boaters in the Mellieha, Malta area. Salt pans are common throughout Malta, and some are still in active use for harvesting artisan salt. However, the Selmun salt pans suffered damage during a major storm in the 1980s, so they are no longer active. However, they're still a stunning natural phenomenon to anyone passing by.

I took this photo while hiking in Mellieha in April 2020.
